It was well-priced, clean, convenient and had fantastically comfortable beds. The little kitchenette had everything we needed. The owner, whose slightly eccentric humour was exactly what I love about Iceland, gave helpful advice on where to get an early breakfast etc - round the corner, as it turned out.

HallgrímskirkjaHallgrímskirkja is a Lutheran parish cathredal in Reykjavik. Situated in the centre of Reykjavík, it is one of the city's best-known landmarks and is visible throughout the city.

The church is also used as an observation tower. An observer can take a lift up to the viewing deck and view Reykjavík and the surrounding mountains.

State Architect Guðjón Samúelsson's design of the church was commissioned in 1937. He is said to have designed it to resemble the basalt lava flows of Iceland's landscape. It took 38 years to build the church.

Sundhöll Reykjavíkur is the public swimming pool in the center of Reykjavik also the work of Guðjón Samúelsson.

It is on the list of historical monuments for the building itself and it’s rare interiors.
